Bacon wrapped crispy water chestnutsThese are so simple to make and taste delicious. It's the contrast between the taste of the bacon and the crisp water chestnut that makes them such a hit on the 'hors d-oeuvres' plate!
Simply wrap the bacon around the water chestnuts and grill/roast at 200C for 10-15 minutes, watching that the bacon crisps without burning. I use extra-thin sliced bacon for the best results. Warning: Let them cool a bit before eating. The water chestnuts keep their steamy heat longer than you might expect:) |

A variation is to first marinade the chestnuts in a Ketjap/ Soy sauce mix for 20 minutes.
