Low-carb recipes

In this section, you'll find a growing list of healthy low-carb recipes, all wheat free and gluten free... except for the einkorn bread recipe made from the earliest form of wheat. This informed LCHF approach uses healthy, mostly fresh but some canned ingredients which contain all the necessary macro-nutrients (protein, fats and non-starchy carbohydrates) and dairy products which include full fat milk.
The only complete 'no-no's  are wheat and sugar, although sugar can still be used as an occasional additive - more in the way you might use salt and pepper. Dr Robert Lustig's arguments about sugar and why it can be particularly bad for children are now becoming mainstream. Dr William Davis' book, Wheat Belly, about the problems associated with modern wheat is also compelling and anecdotal experience with friends and family has proven him right. That one exception? Freshly  made Einkorn bread which has even been enjoyed by some with a low tolerance to gluten... but please remember; it is of course not low-carb at all!

Sammy Pepys is not a doctor or a nutritionist. He is concerned and increasingly suspicious of today's conventional wisdom when it comes to diet, health and the lack of progress on tackling growing rates of type-2 diabetes, obesity and related diseases.
Sammy has advised numerous people about the benefits of low-carb diets and seen their health and energy levels rise. Weight loss is associated with this eating approach (he lost 6 kilos) but feeling good and having more energy is the main driver!
